A LITTLE ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Shaun, and I’m addicted to Cherry Pepsi MAX…

I live in Sheffield with my wife Gemma, and two boys Rex and Arthur. I've been photographing weddings for over 13 years now - which means I’ve seen everything from owl ring bearers to ‘flower bros’, and from singing waiters to casino nights!

I've been lucky enough to shoot weddings all over the UK and even abroad, but I still get excited turning up to every single one! After planning my own wedding (7 years ago now!), I know how important it is to have the right person there capturing it all - someone you trust to document the day without turning it into a performance. That’s my approach; natural, comfortable and real - no cheesy posing, no nonsense.

My love for photography started with capturing real, everyday memories - nothing staged or scripted - and that’s how I work.

When I’m not at weddings, these days I’m usually watching one of our two boys play ice hockey. I love watching them compete, and it’s given me a little hobby in practising sports photography. Having kids and seeing them grow really puts things into perspective, and photography has become even more important to me, in preserving those fleeting moments in life.

We’re big fans of the outdoors and usually try and squeeze a couple of camping trips over the summer - partly for the memories, mostly just to try and wear them out! Summer’s my favourite time of year - weddings, sunshine and our pizza oven in full swing. If you’re having pizza at your wedding, I’m all yours!

I love films; there’s nothing like switching off in a cinema for two hours of escapism! As a photographer I love a good bit of cinematography (but you’ll still find me enjoying some MCU and Disney ‘for the kids’!). I’m a big fan of The Office (both versions, though the UK one is absolute perfection). I’m pretty sure that’s where my love of documentary-style storytelling first kicked in. The beauty of that show is that on first watching, you genuinely just feel like you're watching a documentary. I like things to feel real - completely natural and not scripted at all, and that’s how I approach my work.

If you think I might be a good fit for your wedding, I’d love to hear from you (especially if pizza is involved!).
